The Summit Lake Pedestrian Safety Master Plan aims to increase safety for all modes of transportation and improve neighborhood connectivity in Summit Lake. The intended outcome is a document of proposed safety improvements ready for implementation.

Building on the momentum of the Our Summit Lake community planning process, the Pedestrian Safety Master Plan is the next step in transforming community vision into reality.

The process is led by Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study, with guidance from the City of Akron, and facilitated by City Architecture.

Project Goals
Key objectives include:

  • Increase safety

  • Enhance walkability and accessibility

  • Improve neighborhood linkages and connectivity

  • Identify infrastructure improvements
